As performers face creative battles shaped by audience input\, they challenge themselves to compose in the moment. Through movement\, storytelling\, and unexpected encounters\, competing artists connect\, resulting in a dance that celebrates both individual expression and collective creativity. \nThis is a special preview performance of the work in progress. The audience will help contribute towards the development of the Whose Step ..? project which started as research at The Dance Centre in 2022.

DESCRIPTION:A creative collaboration between Wen Wei Wang (Choreographer & Performer) and Gary James Joynes (Composer & Live Audio Visuals). \nWen Wei Wang began dancing in China\, where the expressive language of the hands\, arms\, and upper body shaped his artistic voice. As he grew older\, he came to understand that his sexuality was different\, a realization that deeply influenced his life and creative journey. Now\, returning to the stage as a senior artist\, he reflects on memory\, mortality\, and the connection between body\, mind\, and the universe. Drawing from therapy-speak\, self-help books\, and new-age TED talks\, ODE explores our society’s pressure to perform relentless positivity at all costs\, ultimately cracking under pressure Gaudet is the winner of the 2022 Grand Prix de la danse de Montréal and has become renowned for her razor-sharp commentary on social conventions\, expressed through micro-movements and rhythmic expressions to reveal our innermost emotions and sensations
