DESCRIPTION:The spring session features five works in development by Adrian de Leeuw\, Dario Dinuzzi\, Kelly McInnes and Luciana D’Anunciação\, Jenna Berlyn and Stephanie Cyr. \n12 Minutes Max aims to foster experimentation and the development of new dance works\, along with critical feedback and community dialogue. SUMMARY:POSTPONED: Kinesis Dance somatheatro
DESCRIPTION:During this DanceLab\, Artistic Director Paras Terezakis has been working with local dancers towards his new project Debris Afloat. The work is inspired by the increasing urgency of plastic pollution and its contribution to the current climate crisis. This first exploration is part of a bigger international exchange between Kinesis Dance somatheatro\, Matsuda Modern Ballet (Japan)\, and Zawirowania Dance Theatre (Warsaw/Poland)\, which begins this June in Poland. \nDancers: Jenna Berlyn\, Alisha Davidson\, Eowynn Enquist\, Juan Villegas\, Sarah Wong\, and Matthew Wyllie. \nThis event has been postponed to our 2020/2021 season.

SUMMARY:International Dance Day: Virtual Edition
DESCRIPTION:The Dance Centre’s annual International Dance Day celebrations are moving online this year! Programmed artists include Mandala Arts and Culture\, Action at a Distance\, Petra Zanki\, WeDT Kpop Dance Club\, and Kinesis Dance somatheatro.\, who will share video works online. In addition\, five micro-commissions will feature short dance films from P. Megan Andrews\, Jenna Berlyn\, Voirelia Dance Hub\, and Vancouver Samba School\, and Amber Funk Barton of the response. will perform an improvised work on Instagram Live.
