SUMMARY:V’ni Dansi
DESCRIPTION:Rou Garou is a collaboration between V’ni Dansi Artistic Director Yvonne Chartrand\, actor and filmmaker Jordan Waunch\, and video editor and media designer Cande Andrade. Starting from a stage work inspired by the Métis trickster figure Rou Garou\, they are researching the development of a dance film. \nThis multi-disciplinary project explores the relationship between camera and dancer within the context of transformation\, cultural content and staged performance\, bringing together images of the moving body with the technologies of film to create the unique and hybrid art form of screen dance. \nThe artists will share their research and discuss their process. \nDigital Dance Playground – A time of exploration where dance and film intersect. SUMMARY:Cross-Pollination: Sharing Practice in Integrated Dance and Disability Arts
DESCRIPTION:Exciting creative cross pollination begins this spring between Vancouver’s All Bodies Dance Project\, Vancouver dance artist (and Dance Centre Artist-in-Residence) Adam Grant Warren\, and Ottawa’s Propeller Dance\, as they begin a three-month creative exchange to share knowledge in dance-making and facilitation in integrated dance and disability arts. \nThe first phase of the project welcomes Propeller Dance to Vancouver in May\, where artists will share a week of exchange in the studio together. \nJoin them for an informal lecture-demonstration to learn about their respective artistic practices\, activities\, and moments of discovery shared in the studio.
