DESCRIPTION:Due to illness among the artists and other unforeseen circumstances\, TvT Interlink International Choreographic Symposium has been cancelled. We are currently exploring alternative formats and future possibilities\, and we will share any relevant updates as soon as they become available. \nSince 2020\, two groups of artists in Toronto and Taipei have been deeply immersed in the Toronto/Taipei Interlink\, a long-term artistic exchange. Across diverse geographies and long distances\, they are practicing actions of reciprocity and connection; generating opportunities for embodied relational exchange and shared community experiences. \nIn 2025 the exchange expands to Vancouver and culminates in a two-day symposium\, presented in partnership between The Dance Centre and the Vancouver Art Gallery. The symposium brings together artists\, curators and producers to reflect on the evolving intersections of choreography\, cultural exchange and transnational collaboration\, with panels\, workshops and work-in-progress showings. \nPresenting artists include Michael Caldwell\, Wu-Kang Chen\, Caroline Chien-MacCaull\, Sammy Chien-MacCaull 簡上翔\, Wen Huang\, Andrea Nann\, Fangas Nayaw\, Heidi Strauss and 蘇品文 Su PinWen. \n

DESCRIPTION:In its 35th year\, the Vancouver International Flamenco Festival celebrates the passion and support of the community that has made this important milestone possible. \nThrough connection\, commitment\, and perseverance\, the festival honours its history while looking ahead to the future of flamenco. \nThe 2025 edition features a strong lineup of Canadian and international artists\, presenting live performances\, masterclasses and workshops from September 20 to 28. This year’s festival offers both ticketed and free events. Audiences will experience powerful and diverse programming by artists from Spain\, the United States\, Mexico\, Cuba\, Iran\, Morocco and Canada. \nFestival highlights include Soulfulness by Flamenco Rosario at the Vancouver Playhouse in celebration of 35 years of passion and dedication with a showcase of ensemble and solo works. Guest musicians José ‘El Cachito’ Díaz (voice) and Caroline Planté (guitar)\, long time collaborators with Flamenco Rosario\, will also present a music concert at the Mel Lehan Hall\, with the special participation of Jafeline Palacios (voice) and Gerardo Alcalá (guitar). \nThe program also features Karen Flamenco’s Vivaldi’s Four Seasons\, blending classical music with flamenco; Palabra Flamenco’s Dark Sounds\, an exploration of poetry and flamenco from Victoria; and Seffarine\, an internationally recognized group that combines flamenco with world music traditions (Co-presented by Caravan World Rhythms).

DESCRIPTION:All Bodies Everywhere celebrates the 10-year anniversary of All Bodies Dance Project’s (ABDP) inclusive and community-engaged work in an exhibition takeover at the Roundhouse Community Arts & Recreation Centre. \n“What is dance?” and “Who gets to dance?” are ongoing questions that ABDP has been asking for over a decade. Through a series of activations placed in the “in-between spaces” of the community centre\, All Bodies Everywhere challenges pre-conceived ideas about who is a dancer and what contemporary dance looks like. The exhibition spotlights the beauty of diverse bodies and minds in movement and depicts innovative community dance shaped by commitment to inclusion and accessibility. \nWithin the photographed and illustrative series\, Move with Us in the Windows and Moments of Performance Banners\, All Bodies Everywhere showcases images from both public performances and behind the scenes moments. These images depict collective joy\, radiant energy\, and free expression. Through video projection\, memory embedded photographs\, and playful window displays; All Bodies Everywhere highlights embodied connections between diverse artists\, participants\, dancers\, and audiences.
