DESCRIPTION:Québec’s renowned choreographer Chantal Caron and her company FLEUVE | Espace Danse bring their critically acclaimed work LA MARÉE NOIRE (“The Black Tide”) to Vancouver in a hauntingly poetic call to action. \nSet against the backdrop of environmental collapse\, LA MARÉE NOIRE is a visceral\, interdisciplinary performance that merges contemporary dance\, sound design\, and visual art. \nThe work reckons with our impact on the natural world. English Bay has never seemed so fragile\, so beautiful\, and so inextricably linked to our own survival. \nChantal Caron is known for her bold environmental engagement and for rooting her choreographic language in the landscapes of the St. Lawrence River. With LA MARÉE NOIRE\, she brings this commitment onto the beach at Spanish Banks with harrowing immediacy.
