SUMMARY:Angélique Wilki
DESCRIPTION:Crimson Coast Dance is honoured to open our 2025/26 season with Confession Publique. \nThis thought-provoking show will grip your sensibilities — weaving together music\, theatre\, spoken word and dance in a powerful reflection on humanity’s yearning for validation and the complex interplay of power and vulnerability that evokes. \nIdeated\, directed\, and choreographed by Mélanie Demers (Montreal) and brought to life on stage by Angélique Willkie with the participation of Anne-Marie Jourdenais and an original score by Frannie Holder\, the essence of the show is in its process. The trust that emerges from the profound encounter between the artists allows for a total unveiling\, a courageous laying bare of the inner paradoxes we all face daily. \nConfession Publique immerses the audience in a duel between intimacy and publicity. It’s through this push and pull that we can observe our shortcomings\, nurse our scars\, and contemplate our faults. It’s through our flaws\, our fractures\, and our fissures that we find our authenticity. The visceral experience of these concepts\, expressed in this work of performance art\, offers to glue these fragments of ourselves back together.

SUMMARY:Action at a Distance/Tangaj Collective
DESCRIPTION:BLOT explores movement in relation to the bacteria in our body. The show presents the body as an interconnected system\, strong and fragile at the same time. Stripped of the social meanings determined by language\, in BLOT\, the body is redefined through a dialogue about our coexistence with microbiological beings. The two female performers work with seemingly invisible connections\, but without which the human organism could not function. \nPresented by Action at a Distance with the support of The Dance Centre’s Special Projects and Partnerships program.

SUMMARY:Daniel Léveillé
DESCRIPTION:The body\, in all its plaintive and humble beauty\, forms the fundament of Daniel Léveillé’s masterwork Amour\, acide et noix (Love\, Acid and Nuts). Winner of the Grand Prix de la danse de Montréal (2017)\, Léveillé’s artistic integrity\, vision\, and creative impact have shaped Canadian dance. His iconic work returns with a critical lesson: “We must love one another or die\,” as the poet W.H. Auden wrote. A maxim that is rendered explicit as the quartet of performers enact rituals of supplication\, rejection\, and finally unity.

SUMMARY:Anne Plamondon Productions
DESCRIPTION:Myokine is inspired by molecules released by the muscles during physical effort\, associated with the regeneration of body and mind. The piece explores the connection between movement\, hope\, urgency\, and resilience\, while revealing how light and shadow respond to\, oppose\, and nourish each other. In a world sometimes perceived as dark\, the choreography draws luminous bursts that can only exist at the heart of darkness. \nThe performers become architects\, protectors\, and messengers of a vital breath\, seeking and sharing moments of clarity that pierce the gloom. For Anne Plamondon\, these “molecules of hope” embody the body’s and dance’s salvatory role in the face of our era’s upheavals. Movement becomes an outlet\, a place to welcome our vulnerabilities and transform them into a shared strength.
