Danse Bloom presents
Bloom Day 2019: A Youth Dance Community
1:45pm to 6pm
For the second time, the Canadian youth dance community Danse Bloom is holding its highly anticipated event, Bloom Day, to be held on October 20th, 2019 at Werklab. The happening is filled with exclusive workshops, speaker series, and the opportunity to dive into conversations around how other fields such as Technology, Education and Health are closely tied to dance, with a special addition of a conference dedicated to parents.
Reuniting more than 50 young dancers mostly between the ages of 13 to 20 years old, Bloom Day is the perfect opportunity for them to connect and exchange in a safe space about the dance community. This year, their parents are also entitled to a round table dedicated to them, facilitated by P. Megan Andrews, Program Manager at the Dancer Transition Resource Centre.
Guests include: Kirsten Wicklund, Dancer at Ballet BC, Jim Smith, Co-founder, Artistic and Executive Director of DanceHouse and Char Loro, Founder and Director of Shape Shifter Studio, Community Facilitator and one of the official MC of Vancouver Street Dance Festival.
