Wreck Beach Butoh has been performed annually by Kokoro Dance for the past twenty-seven years. It is one of our favourite performances but also a test of the stamina and spirit of our
performers. This is an intensive butoh workshop open to anyone who is willing to work physically hard and to endure difficult performing conditions. Kokoro Dance reserves the right to decline an application if it considers the applicant is not at the level of physical fitness suitable for the workshop and performances. The performances on July 15 and 16 are in the nude, rain or shine. Conditions on the beach are primal and challenging.
Donations gratefully accepted. Clothing is optional. Performances take place rain or shine. No photography or video allowed.
