Dance in British Columbia defies expectations and categories. In spite of funding challenges and its geographical isolation from the rest of Canada, dozens of professional companies and many more artists, community groups and organizations are creating innovative dance and exploring fusions of techniques, cultural traditions and artistic disciplines, while hundreds of schools train superb performers.
