Corporate Leader’s Circle

So much of my dance life has happened in the Birmingham studio! Every time I'm at The Dance Centre I find it a beautiful thing to be with the collective dance histories and memories that have passed through there.

I hugely value what The Dance Centre enables in our community. I've been so inspired by the work done there, the performances and artists you're able to bring to Vancouver and the consistency with which it's all done.

Beautiful dance! I think it's wonderful to share different cultural traditional dances and find the ways in which we individually connect to the expression of the soul. Dance is a language of connection and it is so important to keep on expanding the conversation beyond the comforts of each nation. Now more than ever, we have people moving internationally everywhere and it is deeply important that we learn to find the places where we can connect as human beings despite our differences.

Membership has provided fantastic benefits ranging from tickets to exclusive performances to the use of studios and the rooftop terrace for private events. As Chair of the fundraising committee, I have met a number of the dance professionals that utilize The Dance Centre's services and I am truly amazed by the work they produce thanks in part to the funds provided by the Corporate Leader’s Circle.

The Dance Centre, as a building and an organization, has been and continues to be, a powerful inspiration and a support to dance artists in this city. The Dance Centre has been seminal to my work as a creator, by commissioning it, presenting it, and exposing me to the work of other artists. From the beginning, it created a hub, a place where dance artists feel valued. The importance of this cannot be overstated.
