- You may leave all or part of the remainder (residue) of your estate: ‘to pay or transfer ______ per cent of the residue of my Estate to VDC Dance Centre Society, The Dance Centre.’
- You may leave a specific asset: ‘If at the time of my death, I am still the registered owner of [fill in name and number of shares here] common shares to pay and transfer such shares to VDC Dance Centre Society, The Dance Centre.’ OR ‘to pay or transfer the net proceeds of sale from my real property municipally known as [fill in property address here] to VDC Dance Centre Society, The Dance Centre.’
- You may leave a specific dollar amount: ‘to pay or transfer the sum of _____ Dollars [$] to VDC Dance Centre Society, The Dance Centre.’

- Be sure to use the correct legal name and charitable number.
- It is very important to use the full and proper legal name of VDC DANCE CENTRE SOCIETY, THE DANCE CENTRE in your bequest language.
- The Dance Centre is a registered charity.

Shayla’s Story
Known as the girl with the golden heart, 21 year old Shayla Rae Dawn Driver (Alton) was taken from her mother and best friend, Tonya Alton. She passed suddenly as a result of a tragic car accident on McKinley Landing near Kelowna, BC on December 12, 2011.
In loving memory and to honour Shayla’s love for dance, Shayla’s mother has included The Dance Centre in her own bequest plans with a legacy gift. Tonya has generously agreed to share Shayla’s story with our patrons and supporters, as a way to honour Shayla’s memory and to inspire other legacy gifts to our organization.
We are truly honoured to be part of Shayla’s legacy of kindness and generosity.
