A Home for Dance in BC
Scotiabank Dance Centre opened in 2001 in the heart of downtown Vancouver. It was designed by Architectura in collaboration with renowned Canadian architect Arthur Erickson and was a major development in Canadian dance.

Our building is located on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. It is an honour and a privilege for us to be guests in their lands.
A Building for a Community
The 32,000 sq ft, seven storey, glass-enclosed building is a purpose-built, shared use facility, which provides a diverse dance community with a creative hub and resources and raises the profile of dance in the city and beyond.
A Centre for Dance
Today Scotiabank Dance Centre houses rehearsals, classes, performances and events year-round, and attracts an estimated 87,000+ visits annually.
