Buying tickets for Dance Centre presentations

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

IMPORTANT COVID-19 UPDATE Due to the pandemic, live performances will be physically-distanced with very limited capacity. We have introduced new protocols to protect the health and safety of artists, patrons and staff. Please note:

TICKETS

  • Theatre capacity has been reduced to ensure physical distancing is followed.
  • All tickets must be purchased in advance online. Tickets will not be sold at the door, over the phone or at the front desk.
  • Tickets are available only as singles or pairs. Pairs are for people who are in the same ‘bubble’.
  • When booking a pair, please provide contact information for both yourself and your companion, as required by the public health authority for contact tracing.
  • Please arrive no earlier than 30 minutes prior to the show and go directly to the lower lobby to check in. Printed tickets are not required.
  • The theatre will open 30 minutes prior to the show: ushers will assist you with seating.
  • We cannot admit latecomers after the show has started.
  • If you need a wheelchair spot reserved please purchase your ticket first and then email marketing@thedancecentre.ca.

SAFETY PROTOCOLS

  • If you feel unwell, or should be in quarantine or isolation for any reason, please stay home.
  • Masks must be worn in the lobby and in the theatre throughout the show, by patrons, staff and volunteers. Masks are available for purchase from the front desk for $2 incl GST.
  • Sanitization of high-contact areas, washrooms and seats has been increased.
  • Hand sanitizer is available.
  • Plexiglass screens at our main reception and ticket check-in maintain a barrier between staff and patrons.
  • Signage and decals in our lobby remind everyone to maintain a physical distance of 2 metres.
  • Washroom capacity is limited to 3 patrons at any one time. The bar is closed.

Please be patient and expect some delays, as we do our best to keep everyone safe.

Buy in Advance

Tickets will go on sale approximately 6 weeks prior to each show, and will be available online only. Details will be announced throughout the season.

At the Door

We will not be selling tickets at the door this season.

Advance Sales Pick Up:

Please arrive no earlier than 30 minutes prior to the show, or as directed by staff.  You may be asked to provide picture ID.

Please CHECK your tickets carefully at the time of booking and make sure you have the correct date and time: due to our limited capacity we cannot refund or offer exchanges to patrons who arrive for the wrong show!

Subscriptions are not available for our 2020-2021 season.

No – this season tickets can only be purchased online, in advance.

Students: Students MUST provide a current valid student card when picking up tickets. If you are unable to do so you will be asked to pay full price.

Seniors: Individuals must be 65+ years of age to qualify for the senior’s discount.

Members: Dance Centre members must show a valid membership card. Become a Member

Student, senior and Dance Centre member discounts apply to that individual ONLY (not their friends!).

Generally, we are unable to admit latecomers once a show has started, simply because it is too disruptive for the audience and the performers in our intimate space. We do not offer refunds or exchanges to patrons who arrive late for a show, or who have booked for a different show in error. Allow plenty of time to travel to the venue, park and pick up your tickets. Parking in the area is limited.

Ticket sales are final – BUT if you are unwell please let us know, and we will refund your ticket.

We ask parents and guardians to use their discretion in choosing to bring a child; if a child is unable to sit quietly throughout the performance and disturbs other patrons, an usher will ask them and the accompanying adult to leave.

In general, our presentations are not suitable for children under twelve years of age. Some shows contain mature content and we will post advisories on our website where required. If you wish to enquire about the age suitability of a particular show, please contact us.

All patrons including children require a ticket. We are unable to admit babes in arms.

Exceptions apply to the Discover Dance! series and other events that are specified as suitable for all ages or family friendly.

Seating is general admission – you can sit where you want in the theatre unless otherwise directed by staff.

Our performance space is fully wheelchair-accessible. When booking, patrons should follow the directions to reserve wheelchair spots: limited spaces available. Please contact us if you require any assistance.

Food and drinks are not permitted inside the performance space, with the exception of bottled water.

Phones, devices and any alarms must be turned off. Unauthorized photography and video recording is strictly prohibited, as it is disruptive to others, may jeopardize the performers’ safety, and may interfere with technical equipment.
