Guadalupe Martinez’s workshop will share tools from her newest work Sensorial Visualities: embodying together, and alone; a process of learning and making art that stems in sensorial awareness and inquiry. In part Sensorial Visualities emerges as a desire to articulate the sensorial lived experience made palpable through movement, collaboration, and through writing.

The workshop will consist of exercises that foster attunement with the internal and external landscape and explore ways of creating a kind of sensorial aesthetic that is unique to each body and experience, individual and collective.

• For dance and visual artists including emerging artists and those in post-secondary (or equivalent) training. Also open to professionals or students interested in the fields of somatics and education.
• Wear comfortable clothing.
• Bring a quote/phrase/paragraph from a text or book that speaks to your present feeling, desire, interest, or curiosity.
