Under the direction of groundbreaking artist Andrea Miller — the first choreographer to be named Artist in Residence at The Metropolitan Museum of Art — GALLIM performs bold and thought-provoking dance works for audiences across the globe. In this Victoria premiere, the company’s mixed program will showcase Miller’s range and ingenuity with state, created in collaboration with A.I.M by Kyle Abraham; Bruce, a boisterous work set to the rhythms of Balkan Beat Box and Joanna Newsom; No Ordinary Love, a soul-stirring duet performed to the Sade song of the same title; the unconventional and expressive SAMA; and From (Desde), a series of intimate duets set to the captivating sounds of Nicolas Jaar.
