Ballet Vancouver & Yolonda Skelton
A rare glimpse behind the curtain, this Discover Dance event explores the making of Winterbourne, which enjoyed its world premiere at Ballet Vancouver’s inaugural program. Choreographed by Artistic Director Joshua Beamish with visual design by Gitxsan fashion designer Yolonda Skelton, and set to a score by Cree composer Cris Derksen, Winterbourne is a harmonious integration of Indigenous design and ballet exploring the interconnectedness of all living things. Audiences will experience duet excerpts from the work alongside insight into the creative collaboration.
