This 2-day workshop centres the practice of costume making in dance and performance contexts. Nellie Gossen and Jaewoo Kang are both interdisciplinary artists working between the fields of fashion, costume and performance and are excited to share what they know!

Participants, along with Nellie and Jaewoo, will consider how and why costumes enrich a performance, the step-by-step process of costume development, how to create a cohesive visual aesthetic, the interplay between materials and movement, as well as practical tips and tricks along the way.

Your time together will include short lectures, case studies, and discussions, alongside a range of material, clothing and costume experiments to get you thinking about what is possible at the rich intersection of costume and performance.
