Exciting creative cross pollination begins this spring between Vancouver’s All Bodies Dance Project, Vancouver dance artist (and Dance Centre Artist-in-Residence) Adam Grant Warren, and Ottawa’s Propeller Dance, as they begin a three-month creative exchange to share knowledge in dance-making and facilitation in integrated dance and disability arts.
The first phase of the project welcomes Propeller Dance to Vancouver in May, where artists will share a week of exchange in the studio together.
Join them for an informal lecture-demonstration to learn about their respective artistic practices, activities, and moments of discovery shared in the studio. Light refreshments provided.
Free: space is limited, RSVP required
Cross-Pollination aims to contribute to the professional and artistic growth of the participating artists, which will have impacts throughout their local dance community. Presenting organizations and their collaborating artists were selected to receive support for this work as the CanDance Networks’ annual Creative Exchange Project recipients. Bridging two national arts communities, this is an exciting and unique opportunity for artists working in mixed ability dance contexts to share, investigate, and learn from creative peers.
Co-hosted and produced by New Works, The Dance Centre, and the National Arts Centre, with support from CanDance Network’s Creative Exchange Project, the Canada Council for the Arts, and Canadian Heritage.
