Presented by Dance Victoria and led by acclaimed choreographer and Artistic Director Kyle Abraham, A.I.M is galvanized by Black culture and history and grounded in a conglomeration of unique perspectives. Abraham describes his work as a “post-modern gumbo” of movement exploration, with a vocabulary drawing inspiration from Modern, contemporary, ballet, and hip-hop. This mixed program features two works by Abraham: If We Were a Love Song, a work set to a tender soundtrack of songs by Nina Simone, and the stunning silent duet MotorRover. Also showcased are two A.I.M-commissioned works by rising choreographers: Just Your Two Wrists by Paul Singh and YEAR by Andrea Miller.
