Yvonne Chartrand (Director) is a contemporary choreographer and dancer as well as a national award-winning master Métis jigger. In 2000, she co-founded V’ni Dansi (“come and dance” in Mitchif) where she continues to act as Artistic Director. Yvonne’s Métis dance work was passed to her through many Métis Elders and she is dedicated to preserving traditional Métis dance in Canada. Her contemporary works are always informed by her Métis identity. Yvonne is a winner of the 2011 Victor Martyn Lynch-Staunton Award from the Canada Council for the Arts.
Dr Mique’l Dangeli Sm Łoodm ‘Nüüsm (Director) is of the Ts’msyen Nation of Metlakatla, Alaska. She is Assistant Professor of Indigenous Arts in the Department of Art History and Visual Studies at the University of Victoria. Mique’l is a dancer, choreographer, curator, and art historian. Since 2003, Mique’l and her husband, artist and carver Mike Dangeli (Nisga’a Nation) have led the Git Hayetsk Dancers, an internationally renowned Northwest Coast First Nations dance group specializing in ancient and newly created songs and mask dances.
Mirjana Galovich (Director) is an award-winning branding and marketing strategist. Her clients include leading cultural institutions, heritage organizations, museums, festivals, tourist attractions, non-profits, and government, such as: Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden, The Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity, Museum of Vancouver, Ballet BC, Bard on the Beach, the HiVE (co-working space), Vancouver Opera, Vancouver Symphony, Toronto International Arts Fair, The 11th International AIDS Conference, OXFAM, Vancouver Health Board, Ministry of Multiculturalism, and many more.

Selim Hasan (Vice-Chair) is an experienced professional with a strong background in business development, strategic planning, and client relationship management. Sujit Vaidya (Director) is an independent dance artist living and working on the Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh territories, also called Vancouver. His dance training is in a “traditional” dance form from India, called Bharatanatyam. He works to find ways to situate his queerness within the rootedness of tradition and intergenerational knowledge. As an interpreter, he has performed in Canada, the US, Europe and India. Sujit is also an emerging choreographer, whose works include OFF CENTRE (2018), Sacred Sacrilegious (2021), Śṛṅgāra and Breathe In The Fragrance (2023).
Wen Wei Wang (Director) began dancing professionally in China. In 1991 he came to Canada and joined the Judith Marcuse Dance Company, Les Grands Ballets Canadiens and Ballet British Columbia. He has received the Clifford E. Lee Choreographic Award, the Rio Tinto Alcan Award and the Isadora Award for Choreography. Wen Wei has created eleven full-length works for his company Wen Wei Dance, which has toured around the world. He has also choreographed for Ballet BC, Alberta Ballet, Les Ballets Jazz des Montreal, Vancouver Opera, the San Francisco Opera, and many others. He was the artistic director of Ballet Edmonton from 2018 to 2024.
Mark Weston CPA, CBV, ESG.D, FSA (Treasurer) is a Partner at Davidson & Company and leads their Valuation and Litigation Support practice. He is also the Chair of Nexia International’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusivity Taskforce and was previously a partner at a large international accounting firm. Mark has a strong connection to the arts, having spent many years as a successful touring musician.
